Bald Eagle

Date: 02/07/2008

Number: 1

Two mature (apparent mated pair)and an immature fed cooperatively on roadkill whitetail placed on Lake Simond at noon today. Unable to read blue-banded adult bird's alpha-# due to 15 inches of new snow this morning. Other adult did not offer view of any bands on account of the snow. The immature was not a banded bird. One of five ravens harassed the immature by a rear approach and pulled on immature's tail feathers as it fed. Matures chase ravens away, but only briefly.
