Monday,
Feb.11 early afternoon found me driving slowly down Hall's Rd. in
southwest Whitby--careful scanning along both sides of the road
revealed as many as 20 Horned Larks and 10 Snow Buntings as they flew
from the west side field to the field on the east.

Horned larks are an early spring migrant, often seen in farm areas feeding on either insects, seeds or other material in the manure spread in the fields.
