Staff at the Virginia Living Museum report that the first Journey North tulips planted in the museum's Children's Learning Garden emerged today. The Children’s Learning Garden began with Journey North tulips planted in Fall 1998. This is the first year the tulip bed is without the small red bay tree. We suspect the late emergence is due to dry conditions. We finally got a good rainfall yesterday [about 1.5 inches] and that may have nudged them out.
