Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/13/2008

Number: 1

1. The weather has been cold, in the teens for highs with 4 - 5" of snow pack on the ground.

2. The number of Robins were 2.

3. They were close to the foundation of my home, (that area is clear of snow) - when I looked out the window,(I was on my computer), that's when they flew into the Oak tree, and they were all puffed-up and just sitting there, for about 15 mins. then flew off to a cluster of bushes in the backyard.

4. I just thought it was to early to see Robins - and I was wondering what brought them up here so early, and what do they eat - I don't see any berries on the trees and bushes.....due to the fact, that the year prior we had a bad year with West Nile and alot of Crows and BlueJays died.....and this year the Crows and BlueJays ate all the berries off the trees and bushes on the first cold snap....usually the berries last through to Spring and we see the Robins eating them...so, my husband and I wondered will this hurt the Spring migration for the Robins?

5. Haven't heard them singing yet.....and actually since that sighting I haven't seen them since (2/19).
