Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/18/2008

Number: 1

We built a new house 1 1/2 years ago and last January (around mid-January), a wave of about 30 robins appeared on our front lawn. I heard the robins singing loudly and wondered what was going on. I was so thrilled to see them eating all the berries on our bushes. They spent about 2 hours at our place and flew away as quickly as they came.

When I awoke this morning to pouring rain and unseasonable warm temperatures, I looked out the window and saw my second wave. There were about 50 robins covering my lawn and the next door neighbors. We live about 500 feet from the road, tucked back in the woods at the end of a cul-de-sac. The area is country, farm area. I thought last year was just a freak siting. I didn't realize that they would come back with friends!!

This is very exciting to look forward to each year. We will be putting a pool in our backyard this year with perennial gardens and fruit trees and bushes. If anyone has any suggestions to draw different species of birds
