In counting the birds at the small lake that's within walking distance of our house, saw about 15 Red-winged Blackbirds staking out territories in the trees and other assorted vegetation surrounding the lake. They were quite vociferous...could hear their songs while not even within sight of the lake yet! Exciting! Always find some of them back by this time of year...
