I have lived in Las Vegas for 49 years, an admirer of hummers, early fall brings some sadness as I know my little friends will once again migrate to a warmer climate. This year, however, was a different story! Las Vegas experienced unusually warm weather late into 2007. When I saw two young birds just before Thanksgiving, I was concerned that they would not survive the colder winter days that were sure to come. I have since learned that these are Anna's Hummers and we have 30 or more in the immediate area. This is the first time ever for me to see hummers in the Las Vegas valley through the entire winter, very exciting!
