Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/23/2008

Number: 1

I was walking my dog around the block north of Hastings at Lochland Sub-division on Saturday afternoon, 2-23-08, about 5:00 p.m. I thought I heard what sounded like a robin(the “peek” and “tut” calls). I walked a little further and I heard it again. Way up in the top of a tree, sitting on a limb with a bunch of smaller birds around it on other limbs was my first robin of the season. My dog and I walked a little further and there was another lone robin in the top of another tree. Then I saw a third. The temps were in the high 50’s and it felt like spring.

Today we are having almost blizzard conditions. I did not see any robins when I walked around the block today, 2-25-08, maybe because of the weather, or maybe these three were just "early scouts"?
