Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/25/2008

Number: 1

The weather was sunny and the temperature was in the mid 30s with little or no wind that day. As for the number of robins - I saw many flocks flying over and land in the trees - I estimate that the number of robins in these flocks were between 20-40. We live next to a wildlife area and I have seen robin migrations before but always much later in the season and not in such numbers - perhaps they have always moved through at this time and I just wasn't aware of it. I had cabin fever that day and decided to sit in the sun in a sheltered part of my property otherwise I'm sure I would not have been aware of the robins passing through - they really were quite silent - only pipping a bit. Other than the neighbors that I called and who came to watch with me that day no one else said they saw robins passing through when I asked. We sat and watched the robins fly over for more than a hour that morning and I returned to watch again after 1:00 that afternoon and at that time there were still periodic fly overs but far few than in the morning.
