we saw the robins in a group along the roadside near a large ditch. the area is residential (1 to 5-acre lots) with many large fields, so we see a lot of field birds. I would say there were about 6-8 robins. According to our local weather station, the weather that day was around 38F, 88% humidity (no precip).
I will listen for their songs. However, yesterday (3/3)it reached 66F and i heard the red winged black bird all day! that sound takes me back to the days of summer!! i can recognize that song in a heartbeat! :)
i also saw a swarm of bugs yesterday, will have to look into that...
