I just got back from Benigans's Native Plant nursery in the Heights, which is NW of the skyscrapers in Houston. One female monarch ovipositing on the A. curassavica, BUT when I began watching her and checking the leaves after she moved on, there were NO eggs, but she was engaged in very clear ovipositing behavior. I got up really close and watched her.
Why were there no eggs?
