Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 03/03/2008

Number: 1

We think our first sighting was actually a few days sooner, but we were paying more attention to the size & color on the 3rd. In the last couple of years we've had Anna's in the winter. It's funny as you watch, this year we began to see them leaving which alerted us to the fact that the Rufus' must be near. They are a little more skittish than the ones who stay for the summer, so I think these may just be passing throught. But we're seeing a few, some female & some male!!!
