There were 2 bald eagles at their nest along the main highway(highway 2) between Slave Lake and Widewater. We have about 40cm of snow on the ground and Lesser Slave Lake is still very frozen. There is some open water where the Lesser Slave River flows into the Lake. There are 2 other nests in the area but so far we haven't noticed birds there yet.
