Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 03/17/2008

Number: 1

First FEMALE rufous hummingbird at feeder this evening at about 1900. Too dark for good photos so I only got a few fussy ones (but I've gotten some decent shots of the male hummer during the last week).

March 18
She is back this morning and it looks like she has settled in. (I got better photos.) The male is at my window feeder right now.

The male and female Anna's are unperturbed by the arrival of the rufous hummers. They are getting along with each other (perhaps because there are sufficient feeders (11 spaced well apart).
