I saw my first Red-Winged Blackbird this morning, he landed on my platform bird feeder (with safflower seed). That feeder seems to be their first stop out here every year. Just minutes before I saw the bird, my husband heard their song. Once they're here they eat from my feeders all summer long, mostly sunflower oilers. The temperature today in our area is around 37 degrees, overcast and raining. Last year our first sighting was on March 12th.
