Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/24/2008

Number: 1

We had more Red-Winged Blackbirds here this morning, eating sunflower oilers from my birdfeeders, walking along the deck railings and perched in the trees. We see them more and more everyday, especially when we go into town, they're all over and a great sign that Spring may actually come to Michigan!! The temperature here this morning is 27 degrees, party cloudy and sunny. We still have snow on the ground and our lake is still frozen ... but, the beautiful Red-Winged Blackbirds have returned!
