Saw five ENORMOUS birds fly overhead this morning ... silhouettes appeared to be those of sandhill cranes heading north. I have confirmation that the sandhill cranes (and tundra swans) have started to arrive in the Sherburne County refuge (Zimmerman, MN) within the past week - so I suspect it was the cranes I spotted earlier today. Quite a sight!
