Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/27/2008

Number: 1

While sitting by the wood fire at the sugar bush I heard my first robin singing his territorial song this evening at 7:00 daylight savings time. the temperature this evening is a toasty +3C and the sap ran its best today. The sky is overcast and the humidity is at 60%, with a chance of snow or rain showers tonight. There is a very light west wind at 7km/h that just started up about half an hour ago.
The snow is still hanging on in the sugar bush and the drifts that the snowblower placed along the driveway are still deep. The south slopes of the ditches are free and little mini-creeks of spring runoff are providing the red-wings and the robins a reason to sing!!!
happy spring everyone!
