Since the recent showers in the area, the beginnings of some spring greening along the roadsides, and the beginning of the the long-awaited bluebonnets, I've been watching my favorite "back road" for milkweed, hopefully soon to be followed by the beginnings of the Monarchs. At last, today I saw my first "wild" milkweed!! I managed to remain in my car this evening and give them a few more days to grow, but soon I'll start my yearly hunt for my favorite classroom visitors---as 25+ years of students will tell anyone, "Your favorite butterfly!!" At last!
