All Other Signs of Spring

I finally spotted a Brown Thrasher this morning, I wasn't sure if I was hearing a Mockingbird or a Thrasher that last few days. This morning it finally came out of hiding and flew into a tree that is within perfect range of our deck. I'm not sure if this is the same one that was here last year, but I would like to believe that it is.
It's actually very friendly which is somewhat odd for this species. They have a tendency to shy away or be very secretive about their location. I've watched it fly down over a embankment we have behind a old garage that sits on our property, which one day I would like to demolish.
If it warms up today I will step out and try to locate the nest. I've just saw the one individual, so I'm not convinced that there will be any eggs in the nest yet. Who knows I could be wrong, if so either way I will report back on my findings.
From recent studies it has been discovered that the Thrashers numbers have been falling, and no one really understand why. So I feel very blessed to have one nesting on our property so close to the house. It's maybe 30 yards away but still within easy viewing range from our deck.
