Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/29/2008

Number: 1

I'm not sure what to make of this mornings observations. The male is spending the morning either feeding, and mocking feeding his young. As there are no young birds in the nest as best I can tell. Also the female is no where to be found this morning. I really hope that the feral cats I've spoke of in other posts are not responsible for the disappearance.
Temperatures were in the mid 30's for over night lows and there are gusts from the NNE of 9-15mph. I hear very little if any singing this morning from any of the robins within earshot of our home. So there could be some correlation in temperatures having a direct effect on the different types of songs the robin sings or the lack thereof.
Temperatures are suppose to warm up to the mid 50's for highs today. I will spend some time outdoors later today to see if the rising temps will influence the robins to sing or not.
