-the first crocus bloomed in our yard, on the south side of the house, this morning, Saturday, 3-29-08. We still have some isolated piles of snow, 2 feet deep, on the north side of the house. Madison received just over 100 inches of snow this winter, a record amount, twice the normal snowfall total of 50 inches.
