It was our first sighting of the season for the ruby-throated hummingbird at our house. We saw them twice yesterday. The first was very quick, so we don't have a good guess on gender, but the second sighting was a female.
I had not cleaned and supplied our hummingbird feeders from last season - they were still hanging up - when we saw the first hummer come to the empty feeders at our window. I immediately cleaned and supplied the feeders after the sighting and then we were fortunate enough to see the female later in the day.
