I don't know how they do it, ice went off Rice Lake & Whitewater Lake today & about 2 hours later we heard loons. I went to look. Two beautiful loons on Rice Lake preening, stretching their wings & looking under the surface of the water for food. Then heard more loons territorial calling on Whitewater Lake.
