Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/31/2008

Number: 1

It was a single Monarch, wings slightly tattered but not too bad. It was flying sort of low to the ground but did not stop to nectar. I didn't get a good opportunity to photograph it. Last year I had at least 30 or more hatch from my butterfly garden which is tailor made for the Monarch with tropical milkweed everywhere. My milkweed is up but I have not noticed any eggs as it is still early for the plant and it is still rather small. I look forward to keeping up with the ones that visit my house.
