About 6 or 7 Red-winged Blackbirds (all male) appeared on the bird feeder tray today along with grackles they arrived the next day as well. I was visiting family in the Pugwash area, a bit further north of my home in the Annapolis Valley, but these are the first Red-winged Blackbirds I've seen this season. The weather was a mix of sun and cloud and about +5 degrees Celsius above freezing.
