I have tulips planted along the south side of my house. The back corner 1/2 along the house, the tulips are up 4-6 inches -- looking VERY healthy! The front half always emerges slower -- they're only about 3-4 inches up. The front 1/2 gets less full sun and its a wider bed. I think it helps that the driveway is blacktop so it soaks up more sun and holds the warmth. Last year the tulips had trouble as we had an early spring but a freezing raing that 'crimped' the leaves or not everything bloomed. Cross your fingers! Spring is coming to Minneapolis!
