Date: 04/09/2008

Number: 1

Spring has finally arrived at 7 Oak! Our 1st JN tulip for this years study finally bloomed after 89 days of growing. Congratulations to Michael’s tulip. We have begun using our new Vernier LabQuest monitor to collect soil moisture levels in our JN Garden. We also continue to monitor, chart, and graph weekday temperatures in our garden. Awesome job Aide, Jazzy, Anna, Austin, Carissa, and Jake for your amazing work! Feb. averages were 41.3F above surface, 41.9F below surface. March averages were 43.66F above surface and 46.14F below surface. Weather averages in Oregon's Willamette Valley have gone from the mid 30sF in Jan/Feb to the mid 40sF and 50sF for March and April. When the weather warms up a little we will be monitor our garden temps. using our LEGO robot. We continue having fun tracking weekly tulip progress for approx. 75 other JN schools located throughout North America.
