Two sightings where observed on my property about 2:00 PM. A yellow swallowtail was in the same vicinty as the monarch. I sighted the monarch about twenty minutes later flitting briefly above my herb garden. It flew away as I approached. Today's sightings followed a night of high winds and thunderstorms. Today's temperature was in the low 70's with 20 mile an hour winds with gusts of 35mph. This is my first monarch sight of the year.
