We obtained National Wildlife Federation Wildlife Habitat Certification (site #87992) during the summer of 2007. Our 1/2 acre lot holds numerous feeding stations, fabricated water features, and nesting boxes & shelves. In addition to planting many native species of flowers and grasses, we have also let about 45% of our lawn revert to a natural state. We are in a suburban area with mixed deciduous & evergreen trees; and host a variety of birds, mammals and insects. Migration times are always special because you never know what may show up on any given day.
