The signs of summer are evident here in Shubenacadie as we are in full sunlight with a temperature of 17 degrees Centigrade. The past two nights have dropped to 4 below and thus the last two days of sap flow and the end of the maple syrup season. Due to extreme cold in March the production is down 50% below last year and the lowest return since I began keeping records in 1990.
