About 4:15 p.m. today, at Winterhaven Wildflowers & Native Plant Preserve, right by the education area where we held the inaugural Monarch Migration Celebration last year, an adult Monarch lighted for a moment as if to say hello, then flew on. A few sulphur butterflies - white and yellow - had also made their first appearance of the season earlier in the day. AND we found a wood duck (mallard) nest in the wildlife habitat area, with 12 eggs! But the highlight of the day was seeing the monarch.
