I saw 2 Monarchs on the campus of Garden City Community College. They were enjoying the prevailing south wind and sipping nectar from the flowering pear trees. At my own home today, I saw 5 Sphinx Moths, a Giant Swallowtail, and several Painted Ladies. They were all working the blossoms on the fragrant currant bushes. Oh, Spring...It's a beautiful thing.
This morning we saw 6 Black Crowned Night Herons. Back in town for the summer. They have a rookery at our zoo here in Garden City.
