Leaf-Out (Any Species)

Date: 04/22/2008

Number: 1

We took a walk in the woods behind our school and saw that the dogwoods' leaves are the size of a quarter. They are just starting to bloom. Maples, beeches, redbuds, and willows are also leafing out. Oak tress are a little slower. The woods are a light spring green color with all the new leaves and tree flowers. The trees are blooming like crazy this year. Last year was a bad year for them. (spring freezes and summer drought) Maybe they are making up for it.
