Seen by two people- at Peaslee WMA- a very early sighting for Monarch!!
We had the Monarch flying at around 4:00 in the afternoon. It was still warm and not windy- I was there looking for Falcate Orangetip Butterflies! The Monarch did not look particularly worn but it really was a fly by and did not pause. To tell the truth, I did not even notice if it was male or female. The milkweed is NOT up yet here. I am a member of NABA (North American Butterfly Association) and I am very familiar with Monarch Butterflies as I do backyard habitat here in Eldora, N.J. where we have many groups going through our yard learning how to entice birds, butterflies, and other insects to their yards!
