We checked the plants on Monday and noticed that the buds were ready to burst forth. So when they were checked on Tuesday 4/22, there were 5 blooms. Only 8 other plants of the 20 we planted look like they will be able to bloom. The deer munched on the newly emerged plants in March, but seem to have stayed away since then. We can see the bright red flowers from our classroom all the way across the playground.
