Cindy: Observed 80-100 stems of common milkweed growing 2-12inches in height along roadside next door and will transplant what I am able before the roadside-ditch is mowed this Spring into my Butterfly monitoring area. Temps have been in the 80s this week with more chances for rain and 70 degree temps to follow. Have seen Monarchs flying slowly along roadside ditch plants "testing" greenery all week. The appearance of new milkweed growth closely coincided with observance of my primary recording of northward migrating dull-colored Monarch of April 11. Diane Falk
