I've observed many Sandhill Cranes, and seen them numerous times in this location. The bird seen today was in flight,very white with obvious black wing tips. I knew that this was unusual and asked my daughter to note the characteristics too and get a good look at it. We were not using binoculars or looking for birds. We were driving on Bozeman trail just west of the Bear Canyon exit and it flew right over the road in front of us at 10:00 am.
