Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/26/2008

Number: 1

I just moved some potted milkweed stalks outside after keeping them in the garage all winter. A monarch has laid an egg on one of the tiny "leaflets" that remains on the plant. Unfortunately, the amount of plant material on these stalks is not enough to keep a caterpillar alive.
