On April 26, around 6:15 AM, observed the largest bird I ever saw It was white with black wing tips and black beak, elongated neck, and it was flying in from the West, due East, at an altitude of approx. 50 meters. It was honking very loudly at every second long and majestic wing flap. My first thought was that it was a Trumpeter Swan, which is very rare in these parts. But Trumpeters don't have black wing tips. It was much larger than any goose. Made some research on the Internet and found you. Read about Whooping Crane #309 which migrated North to Madison, Vermont in 2005 and 2006. Madison is about 120 km South from here. Is #309 lost again?
