Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/29/2008

Number: 1

With the many sightings in and around our area, I will be putting our feeders up today. I say feeders, because I purchased two more smaller type feeders. Maybe this will help with the male who visited our single feeder last year who wouldn't allow any of the females to feed.
I will put up as many as it takes to ensure all of the Ruby Throats who visit here will be allowed to feed this year. I can understand the territorial actions of the solitary male, but that doesn't mean I have to allow him too be such a bully.

Although it may be a day or so before we see any feeding, as our temperatures have really dropped since the weekend. Temperatures are suppose to be back in the upper 70's to lower 80's by next week.
