Leaf-Out (Any Species)

Date: 04/29/2008

Number: 1

In just the last couple of days all of our sugar maples have lost their flowers and their leaves have appeared. This is our second spring living here on our farm. But this is the first year that the flowers or blooms on all of the trees survived without being killed by a late frost.
There is such an abundance of the flowers in the grass that it looks almost like Spanish moss. I've never witnessed it this thick in all the years I've lived in the state. It seems that every type of tree has or is flowering this year and it's been beautiful to see all of the different colors in the spring.
