Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/29/2008

Number: 1

A ruby-throated hummingbird made a quick stop at one of our feeders at 10 am.
It was 39 degrees in the shade with wind out of the north.

It's probably at our neighbors now. They insist feeding 2 to 1 water to sugar versus the recommended 4 to 1 because they get lots of hummers that way. Even giving them articles that say that 2 to 1 is not good for the birds, has not helped. And they do get a lot more than we do even though we have better natural nectar sources.
