A good friend of mine who has raised monarchs saw a monarch on
4/28/08 at about noon at Van Buren State Park on Lake Michigan just south of South Haven MI.
The temp. was about 50 and there was not much wind. She is a careful person, so I trust her sighting but it is a bit early. The lake may moderate the temps. It might be interesting to look at previous years and see if the earliest sightings were along the lake.
