My class sat around the butterfly garden today as a monarch flitted from milkweed to milkweed depositing eggs. We had observed the eggs before but today we watched as it alighted on a green stalk, curved its abdomen to the stem and after a few seconds left, leaving behind an egg. The children were thrilled.
