Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 04/21/2008

Number: 1

This has been a very confusing year for our tulips. This is the third year that we have particpated in this project. The beds that we planted last year emerged and bloomed first. The bed that was planted two years ago emerged and bloomed second. This year's bed was last. The weather was not very cooperative in NJ. It was warm one week and then we had either frost or light snow the next. It affected the growth of the tulips. They were still beautiful and were enjoyed and appreciated by all of WNY. The student's reached a conclusion that where the tulips were planted had a lot to do with their growth. Those that had the most sunlight, grew larger and emerged and bloomed first. We will continue next year and plant in another area and again compair their growth.
