We are reporting leaf out of the Sugar Maples in our area! A few species are leafing out right along with the Maples, and a few species are behind the Maples. Popple (or Poplar) trees sprung first, followed by Beech and Birch, but the Maple leafs have "unfurled" from their buds into full leafs, small, but fully emerged!
We also noted yellow pollen form the pines starting to accumulate on our cars!

This is slightly ahead of last year's date when we reported May 10th.
