I had my first Monarch hatch this weekend. I didn't even know I had catepillars yet. To my surprise, I found a chrysalis on Thursday morning and by Saturday, it was hatching. My milkweed isn't blooming yet but there are plenty of leaves available. I'm guessing this guy came from under the heavy vegetation in my garden and I missed seeing him until it had already hatched. I am so excited to have Monarchs again. They are beautiful butterflies.
