One adult Monarch sighted 8 miles South of Brumley, MO on County Route C . I am a school bus driver (#15) for School of the Osage (Lake Ozark, MO)......this afternoon at 1PM I viewed this one adult Monarch flying approximately 6 ft. above the ground on a NNE direction. The day was absolutely perfect...full sunshine with few clouds, light & gentle breeze, and a temperature of 70 degrees F.
This is my first positive sighting in Missouri for 2008 BUT there was "one possible" sighting a month ago in Lake Ozark, MO on a NE flight at a height of approx. 12 ft. I don't count this one since I was NOT POSITIVE.
I look EVERYDAY as I am driving my bus route and personal trips.
