Number: 1

Purchased a new property 1.75 acre in spring 2007 and started the garden most of which to be a butterfly habitat. Includes many host plants for various moths an butterflies and about 10+ varieties of milkweed for monarchs. Certified as a Monarch Way Station. No chemicals used, only organic and natural products, fertilizers and etc... part of the property is not being mowed at all - being kept as a meadow (occasionally irrigated) with about 80% grasses and some native wildflowers. Lightly wooded area with patches of native milkweed attracts queens and monarchs - the most eggs and caterpillars are found there.
